Photo Shoot

A few days ago I had a second photo shoot with Sid. We had a great time, the sun was shining and my kids were running around interrupting our hard work. Nevertheless, the result is brilliant. Below is the evidence.

If you want to see the pictures from my first shoot, here is the link.

Very artistic and creative, Sid is a qualified photographer from Sid Photographic. He is also a really easy going guy to work with.

Let me know what you think of the photos.

My outfit is nothing very special, but I LOVE my new Converse trainers. I had been looking for similar trainers for a long time, but only after a long time of looking I finally managed to find them. The shoes have a bit of a heel, they are very stylish and go with so many outfits that I can't stop wearing them. The top is from Mango and it cost me only a few quid. Simple and comfy, the outfit is nothing too hectic like last time, lol.

Charcoal Detox Brightening Beauty Mask Review by Davina Shah

Charcoal Detox Brightening Beauty Mask
Charcoal Detox Brightening Mask
At the Anti-ageing Show 2014 I received a bunch of beauty masks from The Beauty Masks company. I have tried one mask myself and I passed another mask to Davina who has kindly written an article in which she is sharing her experience about the Charcoal Detox Brightening Mask - Timeless Truth Functionality Cloth. Below are her words.

I was delighted to receive a face mask by our lovely Min earlier this week.  I had not been kind to my body or face over the weekend, with beer and the World Cup all playing their part!  I needed some time out, pampering and me time...ahhhhh!

Is it a mask or a cloth?

On reading the back of the packet I soon discovered this was no ordinary run of the mill face mask, this was different!

Timeless Truth Charcoal Detox Brightening Mask
  • The product is a unique and patented functionality cloth by TT International Cosmetology Organisation;
  • The black powder impregnated in the cloth is a product of Bamboo Charcoal Extract created at a high temperature (around 800 degrees celsius).
Benefits:
  • The mentioned powder has proven to be deep cleansing and highly absorbent;
  • Instantly brightens;
  • Smooths;
  • Hydrates;
  • Charcoal assists diffusion of pure active ingredients into the skin.
How to use:
  1. Cleanse your face;
  2. Open the packet via the easy tear section at the top;
  3. Take out the cloth discarding the plastic attached to it;
  4. If you hold up the mask you will see there is a dark side and a light side to the black and white chequered cloth. Place the dark side of the cloth to the face starting from the chin upwards;
  5. Leave on for 15-20 minutes;
  6. When finished, remove the mask and massage the remaining essence into the skin;
  7. You can also apply your own products if you wish to lock in moisture.

Trying out the mask
Results:
  1. I loved it.  It was a little tricky fitting the cloth to my little face and it kept coming away from my chin if I moved.  I would definitely place it better around the chin next time.
  2. After I placed it on my face it felt really soothing and cool throughout.  It is very moist so beware of drips when you initially take it out of the packet.
  3. I found it really relaxing compared to regular face masks and it was surprisingly easy to apply...even for me!
  4. More importantly, my skin felt really hydrated and smooth, more than any other mask I have ever used at home.
  5. I will definitely purchase a few and keep them handy for hangover days and maybe even try one a week to see if it helps with acne.
A quick google search revealed a UK based company selling them for £4.95 and £6.45 for the luxury range.

There are different masks such as Deep Sea Extract and Herbal Rejuvenation, all with varying benefits.  I would highly recommend this product and will try other masks in the range.

Cautions:
  • External use only
  • Avoid contact with eyes.  If you do suffer irritation, rinse immediately
  • Stop using if you experience irritation to skin
  • Do not use on wounded or inflamed skin
  • Use product immediately after opening
  • Keep away from children
  • Do not reuse

Do you use any face masks? What are they?

Evening Dress Ideas

Open back closed front dress for special occasions
Long black dress with an open back
So, you have an occasion - your best friend's wedding, a formal party at work or simply a new year's eve where everybody is expected to dress up in their best apparel. How do you choose a dress? What evening dresses do you like?

A few years ago I had a few events to go to, so I visited a few shops and I bought as many dresses as I could carry. Ever since then I have not needed to worry about any weddings, christenings or other occasions. I just had to pull a dress from my wardrobe, wipe the dust off and I was ready to go. Nice, but I have started to wear the same clothes as it was a long time ago that I did that shopping trip. It's time for a new adventure! When I was approached by Victoria's Dress to write an article about their online shop www.victoriasdress.co.uk, I didn't think twice. I thought you know what 'why not, I'll do it'. At least I'll get to know about what's available on the market of special occasion dresses these days. When I have a new event to attend maybe I will have a dress or two in mind to choose from.

Long sexy dress with open back
Sexy dress with an open back
A little bit about Victoria's Dress. It is an online wedding apparel, prom dresses, brides, bridesmaids and special events clothes shop. All dresses are made of good material such as satin, sequin and crystals. It is a family owned and run business with more than 10 years experience.. Well, that's what the website says...

I picked a few dresses that I think would work for me. They are elegant and sexy, yet subtle. I like dresses with a closed front and/or open back. This way I get to emphasise my best bits and hide the bony parts that I am not so fond of. Let me know what you think of my chosen garments.

My three picks

Beautiful dress perfect for any special occasion
Beautiful subtle dress with a covered up chest
The first dress that I picked is a beautiful long black dress with an open back and closed front; it is perfect for me. As I said I don't like showing too much of my front, but I like my back, so I am happy to reveal it. The dress is called a chiffon black long evening/prom dress with beads. It is currently sold for £89.99.

The second sexy dress that I picked is the white one; you can see it in the picture. Again, it has a beautiful open back and it would look totally stunning on someone with a fuller chest, but I would still wear it as well. The dress is sold for £84.99 at the moment and it comes in the whole range of colours.

The last and my favourite dress that I picked is the chiffon brown long prom/evening dress with ruffles. It looks stunning and elegant. It has outstanding reviews and it would work for any special event as it is not revealing, very elegant and I simply love it. It is sold for £79.99.

Which on of these dresses is your favourite? What type of dresses do you like to wear on special occasions? Do you like sexy, elegant, long or short, subtle, white, black, revealing or whatever else it could be? Please share your thoughts!
